In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the Office of the President of the Czech Republic, and the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic, a gala evening was held on September 20, 2023, to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Czech and Slovak Republics and 30 years of membership in the United Nations on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. The gala evening was held in the Czech National Building in Manhattan, New York. We thank the GLOBSEC think tank for the co-organization.
Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová and Czech President Petr Pavel welcomed their counterparts from 8 countries. Representatives from 18 countries took part, friends of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as compatriots living in the United States of America.
The world-renowned American historian and professor from Yale University, Timothy Snyder, took on the role of keynote speaker. The cultural programme was provided by a band led by Martin Valihora, guests could listen to a performance by singers David Koller and Kristína Mihaľová.
